Dorothy Baucum

DOROTHY BAUCUM, 91, died Monday, November 24, 2025, at her home in Anson. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 28, 2025, at the First Methodist Church in Anson.

Born August 10, 1934, in Anson, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Ernest Wendell and Mary Elizabeth (Steed) Wood. She graduated from Anson High School in 1955. Dorothy worked for the Housing Authority of the City of Anson until retiring in 2014. She was a faithful member of Methodist Church.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (Ernest Steed Wood and Wendell Jackson Wood) and a son-in-law (David Scott).

Survivors include her daughter, Denyce Scott; two sons, David Weaver Baucum (and wife, Barbara) and Daniel Baucum; a sister, Mary Belle Wood Moore; and three grandchildren, Daryk Thomas Scott (and wife, Carolyn), Dalton Jackson Scott, and Jessica Riley.
