BETTIE LOU HOLLIS, 73, died Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Hendrick Hospice Care. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Family visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service.
Born April 4, 2025, in Abilene, Bettie was a daughter of the late Claud Scott and Betty Ruth (Mankin) Brown. She graduated from Hawley High School in 1972. Bettie worked at West Texas Medical Center and she also provided child care in her home for many years. Due to Bettieās health, Bettie went into Oaks of Radford Hills Nursing Home in 1988.
Bettie was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, two brothers (Ronny Scott Brown and Don Brown) and two sisters (Dorothy Yvonne Perkins Doan and Janell Markley).
Survivors include her son, James Matthew Hollis; two sisters, Joan Perry and Joyce CocHran; two brothers, Terry Brown and Charles Brown; three grandchildren, Hailey Hollis, Alyssa Hollis and Makenzie Hollis; and one great-grandchild, Alora Trevino.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffrey Edwards, Dr. Jonathan Urbanczyk, the staff of Hendrick Hospice, the staff of Oaks at Radford Hills and her many friends.
