MARTHA THOMPSON, 82, died Thursday, March 27, 2025, in Anson. Services were 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Bethel Assembly Church. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Born January 3, 1943 in Jones County, Martha was a daughter of the late Horace and Sarah (Pittman) Boring. At fourteen, she married Jackie Dale Thompson and moved across the country. From there she followed her husband around the world making friends in every country she lived in. She was the strongest woman who educated herself and dedicated her life to raising many babies. Martha also worked as a medical technologist at Humana Medical Center in Abilene for many years.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter (Holly Collins), her lifelong love (Jack Thompson), her best friend, Frankie “Heidi” Mitchell; and granddaughters, Nikki and Heather Ramos.

Survivors include her children, Rhonda Boaz (and husband, Joe Edd), Cindy Clark (and husband, Freddy), Wanda Gresham (and husband, David), Scott Thompson (and wife, Merelyn) and Dana Rister (and husband, Ronnie); grandchildren, Jimi Davis (and husband, David), Shanna Montgomery, Michelle Kilgore, Jessica Ward (and husband, Andy), Sara Galvan, Erin Bevel (and husband, Brian), Micki Black, Melissa Hamilton (and husband, Rick), Brittany Lozano (and husband, Michael), Kimi Johnson (and husband, John), Joshua Ramos, John Rister (and wife, Rachelle), Meadow Galletine, Meagan McWhirter, Triston Thompson, Colton Thompson, Chad Collins (and wife, Destiny) and Derrick Collins (and wife, Jenny); and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
