Hawley comes up short

Hawley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heart breaker at the hands of the Anson Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that’s the closest defeat the Bearcats have suffered against the Ti gers since May 14, 2021. Lily Bailey put in work no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up six unearned) runs off seven hits. That’s the most strikeouts she has went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That’s the most RBI posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter’s box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of Frazier has posted since back in February. the season. Bailey wasn’t the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aubrie Frazier, who Hawley’s loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Anson, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-4. Hawley does not have any more games sched uled as of now. As for Anson, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Anson Tigers face off against Albany Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Friday
